Dogs, cats, fishes and other varieties of pets live inside the city of San Diego. The community of San Diego has become accustomed to create homes to humanity's animal friends. From hospitals, parks, restaurants, bakeries and even boutiques, the pets are given the necessary attention they need.

San Diego Dog Parks

San Diego dog owners love taking their dogs to leash-free San Diego dog parks, where mutts and purebreds of every size can sniff, play together, and even swim. Remember to pick up after your puppies!

Dog Beach in Ocean Beach

Located at the foot of OB’s Voltaire Street Ocean Beach’s Dog Beach is hands-down the best leash-free spot for dogs in San Diego. Dogs have 24-hour access to the sand and the sea.

Fiesta Island Dog Park

Located in San Diego’s Mission Bay Park San Diego dogs love swimming in Mission Bay off Fiesta Island, and dog owners enjoy scenic vistas of Sea World and Point Loma.

Cadman Community Park in Clairemont

Adjacent to Clairemont’s Cadman Recreation Center, Cadman Community Park offers family-friendly entertainment for San Diego dogs and dog owners.

Capehart Park in North Pacific Beach

Located at the corner of Felspar and Soledad Mountain Road
Capheart Park in North Pacific Beach offers two fenced, grassy pens for San Diego dogs to play leash-free 24 hours a day.

Doyle Community Park in University City

Located at 8175 Regents Road
Doyle Community Park offers two parks: a space for all dogs, and a separate fenced area for small dogs to play leash-free, so they won’t be overwhelmed by those German Shepherd triplets.

Kearny Mesa Community Park

Located at 3170 Armstrong Street
The Kearny Mesa Community Park is open until 10pm every day, and includes a water station for dogs (and people).

Dusty Rhodes Neighborhood Park in Point Loma

Located on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard between Nimitz and West Point Loma
Keep an eye on Point Loma’s Dusty Rhodes Neighborhood Park – it might be expanded to five acres.

Rancho Bernardo Park

Located at 18448 West Bernardo Drive
Adjacent to Rancho Bernardo Community Park, the leash-free Rancho Bernardo Dog Park is over 2.5 acres.

Torrey Highlands Park in Del Mar

Located on Landsdale Drive off Del Mar Heights Road
Del Mar’s Torrey Highlands Park offers San Diego dogs plenty of room to roam.

Grape Street Park in South Park

Located at Grape Street and Granada Avenue
Five acres of grass at South Park’s Grape Street Park (east pf Balboa Park) are open to San Diego dogs and dog owners during daylight hours.

Maddox Neighborhood Park in Mira Mesa

Located at 7815 Flanders Street
Mira Mesa’s Maddox Neighborhood Park is small, but convenient for Mira Mesa residents, and dogs love its grassy leash-free field.
